Gridded test items are scored similarly to multiple choice items, except that respondents choose their own answer by filling in the grid rather than choosing an answer from a pre-defined list. This item type is typically used for math questions. In online tests, the answer bubbles look like they do on a printed test. Students select the appropriate bubbles to enter their answer.
Gridded items support negative, decimal, fraction, and mixed number (for example, 2 3/4) answers.
You can configure gridded items with the following formatting options. These formatting options are supported with answer sheets, ScanIt, QTI import/export, upload scores, answer key only tests, and screen readers.
