1. Go to Assessments > Find for Tests. (If you are creating a new test, you can choose to add items from a bank when generating the test.)
2. Enter the search criteria, and then click Go.
3. Click a test to go the Test Detail page.
4. Click the Add Item button, and then do one of the following:
   • To create a new item, select an item type, such as True/False.
   • To search for existing items, click From Item Bank. Use the search filters to find an item or items, select the checkboxes for the items, and then click the Add to Test button. The search filters will default to the subject, grade level, and standards template defined for the test. Click Select Banks to search for items from a specific bank or banks.

     If you exit the test and return later, any filters you applied to the item bank will be retained (until you exit the application).

5. Edit the item(s) as needed.

You can add items to tests from both the item search results and passage search results.

1. Go to Assessments > Item Banks.
2. Locate the item bank you want to search, and then click Items. Or select Passages if you want to add items linked to a passage.
3. Search for and select the checkbox for each item you want to add. You can add up to 250 items to a test.
4. Click the Items Actions button, and then select Add to Test.
5. Select or create test as follows:
• Search for a test under Find a Test , and then click Select to add the items to an existing test.
• Click Create new test with these items to create a new test.
• If you are adding items from passage search results, items linked to the selected passage will be added to the test. Linked items in banks you do not have access to will not be added to the test. If no items are linked to the passage, no items will be added to the test.
6. Update the Test Details as needed.

When adding an item to a test from an item bank, the following logic determines how the primary alignment is assigned. Note that you can change the primary alignments later when editing items on the test.

• The primary alignment will come from the test’s Standards Template if there is a match. If the Standards Template includes multiple standards that match the item’s alignments, then the first matching standard will be used.
• If the test does not have a Standards Template, then the primary alignment will come from the test’s Preferred Standards Document if there is a match.
• If there is no match to the Standards Template or the Preferred Standards Document, the item's first standard will be used as the primary alignment.
