1. Go to Assessments > Find > Items, or go to Assessments > Item Banks to search a specific bank.

   You can also access Item Details from a test. Any changes you make will affect only the item on the test.

2. Search for the item, and then click View Item Details in the action menu for the item.
3. On the Item Detail page, view the item content and properties. The information you see depends on whether you are viewing items from item search results or from Test Detail. Both are listed in the following table.

Bank Name
Indicates the bank the item is in. For items on a test, you will see also see [Item type] from Item Bank above the question content to indicate the item is from a bank. If you have permission to access the bank, the link View in Item Bank will appear.
Subject
The subject assigned to the topic, which can be used as a search criteria.
Grade Level
Targeted grade for the item.
Standard
Standard aligned to the item.
Created by
The name of the user who created the item.
Date Created
The date on which the item was created.
Last Modified By
The user who last modified the item.
Last Modified Date
The date on which the item was last modified.
Exposures
The number of times the item has been used on a test.
Name
Searchable names that can be used to locate the item in an item bank. This field is not optional for task item types.
Question Language
Content language. This property is available for school districts with system configurations to support multiple languages. Currently supported languages include:

Publisher
Vendor that wrote the item or passage, such as Equella, Kaplan, or ETS.
Keywords
Searchable keywords used to locate the item in an item bank.
Authored Difficulty
Indicates the item's difficulty.
Bloom's Taxonomy
Bloom's Taxonomy
Anchor Item
Shows whether this item has been designated as an anchor item. This flag is user-defined, visible to only its creator, and may be used for a variety of purposes.
Webb
Webb's Depth of Knowledge level.
Cognitive Demand Level
Low, Moderate, or High.
Hard to Measure Content Area
Indicated whether the item is marked as hard to measure (Yes or No).
Formula Reference Sheet
Shows any formula reference sheet attached to the item.
Number of Answer Sheet Pages
For Open Response questions, shows the number of pages available for student responses. If 3 lines (rather than pages) are selected for student responses, this will show as 0.
Line Spacing
For Open Response questions with one or more answer sheet pages, shows the selected line spacing: College Ruled or Wide Ruled.
License
Indicates the item's license information, and whether the item is open (can be edited) or restricted.

The actions you can take depend on your rights to the item bank.

• Edit: Edit the selected item. This action is available only if you have edit rights to the bank. Third-party items, such as Hot Text and Graphic Gap Match, cannot be edited. See Edit an Item.
• Modify: If you are viewing items from a test that is scheduled, in progress, or completed, you can modify the point value, correct answer, standards and weights. See Test Detail.
• Copy: Make a copy of an item. You will be prompted to select a bank to save the copy in. When copying an item to a different bank:
  • For items linked to a passage, one of two things will happen: 1) if you have edit rights to the passage bank, the passage will stay in its current bank (and the item will remain linked to it), or 2) if you do not have edit rights to the passage bank, the passage will be copied to the designated bank along with the item (and be linked to the copied item).
  • For items linked to a rubric, the rubric will not be copied, and the item will remain linked to the original rubric.
  • For tasks, linked activities and passages will also be copied to the new bank as children of the task, but cannot be found by searching the bank.
• Add to Item Bank: Appears only when viewing items on a test. If an item has been created or updated on a test, it is not added or updated to an item bank by default. Click this link to add or update the item to a bank.
• Export: Export the item for transfer to another system. Only complete items that were created in the system are eligible for export. Items with alerts cannot be exported. See Export Items.
• Preview: Preview the item as it will appear for students when taking an online test. Select one of the following preview options:
  • In TestNav: Select to preview the item in TestNav without text-to-speech. Composite tasks display in TestNav with both activities on the same page. For tasks with more than two activities, the previewer displays which activity in the task (testlet) you are on. In the TestNav previewer, all tools and accommodations will be shown when you preview items, not just those that are selected, so it is recommended to preview the entire test in TestNav to view the test as students will see it.
  • In TestNav with Text to Speech: Select to preview the item in TestNav with text-to-speech enabled. This option will take longer to process than other preview options. Note that if you have already previewed speech-to-text and not made changes to the item, the text-to-speech feature will also be available in the "In TestNav" preview option.
  • In preview, you can enter answers to verify that scoring works correctly.
• Add to Test: Add the item to an existing test or create a new test with the selected items.
• Delete: Remove the item from the bank. You must have edit rights to the bank to delete an item. When deleting items that have been used on a test, student performance data that has been collected is not affected.

• Student exemplars - Exemplars are examples of exemplary student answers or other ancillary documents designed to support scoring of student responses. Test item creators can enter text or upload multiple files of any type, such as PDFs, images, and Microsoft Word documents, when creating an open response question. Click a link under Exemplars to open a file. Use the exemplars as an aid to consistently score open response questions.
• Item Test History – For items that are used on tests, Test History displays a listing of all tests using the item and includes the Version of the item, Date Modified on a test, Test Name with linking to the Test Detail page, and Admin Dates.
• Response Distribution – Items that have been used on tests may also include frequency of response distribution that may be calculated within the system or imported from an external data source. The available distribution frequency is determined by the item type and source for analytic data.
• Score Point DistributionFor an open response question or multi-part question, each of which have a total point value, the percentage of students who received each possible score point. – Displays data based on the total score defined for an item and the percent of test-taking students who achieved each score point divided by the total number of students who responded to the item.
