1. Go to Assessments > Find for Tests.
2. Enter search criteria to locate the test that is Ready, Scheduled, In Progress, or Completed, and then click the test name.
3. Click the Modify Items button. This action is limited to users who have the Modify tests operation.
4. In the left navigation pane, click the test item you want to modify. You will not be able to navigate away from an item that has errors.
5. Modify the test items as needed.
6. Optional: Click Unlink to unlink an item from its item bank counterpart. If you are making material changes to this test item, this will prevent response data for this item from affecting the statistics of the original.
7. Click Save to save your changes.
8. Click Return to Test Details to go to Test Details. If you have not saved, your changes will be discarded.

If a modification to a test item changes:

• the point value,
• the correct answer,
• all-or-none scoring,
• or pattern scoring for tasks

Then the test will be rescored and statistics recalculated. The Classrooms Summary Statistics report will not show statistics until after the recalculation is complete.

• For open response items that have been attached to a rubricA standard of performance that is used to evaluate and measure student performance. In Schoolnet, rubrics are tables with rows that define a measured quality or skill and columns that define performance levels for each row. Rubrics can be created and managed in Assessment Admin by state, district, regional, and school administrators as well as teachers for classroom tests., modifications can be made to rubric weights that calculate the points for each level. After all weights are entered, the maximum number of points for the item is calculated. The modified copy of the rubric is only reflected on this test item. Users cannot change the following, regardless of permissions: number of answer sheet pages, response type, text formatting settings, answer sheet response instructions, decimal scoring settings, maximum score, and rubric scores. Modifying these items would require the reprinting of answer sheets.
• For checklist items, it is possible to change the values for answer choices under default scoring; to change the points value for all-or-none scoring; and to change the scoring method from default to all-or-none and vice versa.
• For inline response items, you cannot change question content, gaps, or answer choice labels regardless or your permissions.
• For hot spots, you cannot edit images, change hot spots, add or delete answer choices, change hot spot labels, or change the maximum response range regardless of your permissions.
• For matching and drag and drop, you cannot change target containers, question labels, or question/answer matches regardless or your permissions. For drag and drop and click stick click drop, you cannot change container capacity or how often an answer choice is used.
• For multiple choice and true/false, you cannot change answer choice labels or delete answer choices regardless or your permissions.
• For gridded items, the number of columns and Gridded Response Options cannot be changed regardless or your permissions.
• For gap match items, you cannot delete answer choices, add or delete gaps (unless adding and deleting an equivalent number of gaps so that the same number of gaps are on the item after editing), or change how often an answer choice can be used.
• For tasks, activities cannot be added or deleted. You can change the scoring model (default or pattern). However, open response scores will be lost if you change the scoring model from default to pattern. Open response scores will also be lost if you change the correct answer on activity A.
