Edit Rubric

When editing a rubric, you can make changes to rubric properties, rubric levels, standards associated with the rubric, and weights. A maximum of 15 traits can be added each with up to 10 performance levelsA number of levels that demonstrate a range of performance. Examples include Warning or Failing, Needs Improvement, Proficient or Advanced. (columns) for each.

Rubrics cannot be created or edited from tests, but changes can be made to the Scoring Weight of rubrics that have been added to open response items. The weight defaults to 1.

You can copy an existing rubric from Rubric Details. A copied rubric is given the existing rubric name followed by (COPY).

To edit a rubric:

  1. Go to Assessments > Item Banks. Locate the item bank you want to search, and then click Rubrics. For detailed steps, see Item Bank Search.
  2. Search for the rubric you want, and then click Edit in the actions menu for the rubric. This action is available only if you have edit rights to the bank.
  3. Edit the rubric properties including the Name, Subject, Grade Level, Scale, Language, Keywords and Publisher information. You can also edit rubric levels including the header, columns and rows.
  4. Optional: Click Change to choose a new grouping for the rubric. When grouping options are changed, some previous information will not be saved.
  5. Optional: Click Change Standards to select different standards to align to rubric levels.
  6. Click Save.
