Export Items

You can export test items for transfer to another system, which allows the item to be shared and re-used. The IMS Question and Test Interoperability (QTI) 2.1 specification is used to import and export of items in Schoolnet.

You can export an item if:

• you have Edit or Manage rights to the item's bank,
• you have the Export an item or assessment from Schoolnet operation,
• the export of items is enabled in your system, and
• the item's license type is Open (the Vendor does not need to be Schoolnet).

Items with critical alerts cannot be exported.

To export an item:

1. Go to Assessments > Item Banks.
2. Locate the item bank you want to search, and click Items to search for items.
3. Use one of the following export methods:
   • To export a single item: Search for the item you want to export, and then click Export in the actions dropdown for the item.
   • To export multiple items: Select the items you want to export, click Item Actions, and then click Export.
   • To export all items in the bank: Click the Select All button, and then click Export. Items that are not eligible for QTI export will be ignored, and a message will appear showing the number of items exported and ignored.
4. In the confirmation window, click Export. A notification will appear when the export is complete.
