Take a Test

Take a Test

The Take a Test area on the My Schoolnet Dashboard lists the online tests that have been assigned by your teachers, including the course/sectionAn instance of a course. For example, Ms. DeYoung’s 3rd period Algebra II class is a Section. that is associated with each test.

Some tests may require the Secure Tester desktop application. This application must be installed on your computer by a teacher before beginning a test. Also, if your teacher has linked the test you are going to take to a LMS assignment, you need to take the test through the LMS, not through Schoolnet.

To take an online test:

  1. Sign in to My Schoolnet.
  2. You can see your tests in the Take a Test area. For a complete list of tests that have been assigned by your teachers, click View All.

If you use Windows 10, you will need to open the Take a Test app from its desktop shortcut. When you launch the app, a warning message appears, saying, “Do you trust (url)? This site wants to take control of your PC.” Click Yes to launch the Take a Test app. Please make sure you have your username, password, and the online passcode for the test you need to take before launching Take a Test.

  3. Enter the online passcode provided by your teacher and click Go. If you receive an error message, notify your teacher or the test administrator.

  9. Read through each question and enter or select an answer. Open Response item types may allow you to use a text editor to enter your response online, write your answer on a separate piece of paper or in a blue book, upload a file, or record an audio response.

If you are using Windows 10, then within the test, you’ll see a banner letting you know that you can click CTRL+ALT+DEL to exit the test. Clicking CTRL+ALT+DEL immediately exits the test. Your work on previous questions you have already answered will be saved. However, any unsaved work on the current question you’re on when you exit the test will be lost.

If your test allows pausing, you can pause or exit your test as usual, and you will be returned to the login page for taking a test. If you need to return to your computer’s desktop, though, you need to use CTRL+ALT+DEL and log back in. Your teacher may have to log you back in if a dedicated test-taking Windows account is being used.
